Ceramic tiles are one of the indispensable materials in the decoration process. We often hear the word imitation ceramic tiles in the market, but many people have such troubles. They don’t know what imitation ceramic tiles are like? Can imitation ceramic tiles be used during decoration? ?Let’s first understand what imitation tiles are. They are made of natural minerals as raw materials and in a healthy and environmentally friendly way. It can be seen that imitation ceramic tiles still have a certain market, especially in recent years, imitation wood tiles have become more popular among customers. Today we will learn about the advantages and disadvantages of imitation ceramic tiles and related installation methods.
1. Advantages: easy to clean, good waterproofing, chemical corrosion resistance, dimensional stability and dust-free, easy to process, antibacterial, green and environmentally friendly, and UV resistant.
2. Disadvantages:
a. It has high radioactivity and feels bad. Imitation ceramic tiles generally feel cold to the touch and refreshing;
b. The material of imitation ceramic tiles is relatively hard and lacks elasticity. If it is broken, it will be difficult to repair. Therefore, imitation ceramic tiles are not suitable for making countertops exceeding 1 meter;
c. The surface of imitation ceramic tiles is very easy to be stained, and the aesthetic effect is not good enough.
1. Base layer treatment: If there is dirt on the ground, it must be cleaned up, otherwise the cement mortar will not bond firmly with the base layer. After the base layer is watered and moistened, remove floating sand and debris. This can make the ground base smooth and prevent hollowing, cracking, etc. after the floor tiles are laid.
2. Pop-up lines and pre-paving: Before construction, pop up elevation control lines around the wall and pop up cross lines on the ground to control the separation size of floor tiles. On the basis of the drawing design requirements, the color, texture, surface smoothness, etc. of the floor tiles are strictly selected, and then pre-paved according to the drawing requirements.
3. Leveling: Before laying floor tiles, apply plain cement mortar evenly on the surface of the base layer, use a large pole to smooth the cement mortar, and then pat it firmly with a trowel. The thickness of the leveling layer should be 2~3mm higher than the bottom elevation of the floor tiles.
4. Mold layout: Floor tiles should be laid outside first and then inside. Generally, the room should be laid first inside and then outside along the control line, that is, starting from the side away from the door, laying in sequence according to the trial number, and gradually retreating to the door. If the ground is drained on the right slope, the slope should be found. The height difference within 2 meters of the return slope should be about 5mm. A datum point should be made and a horizontal line connected to the datum point should be laid.
5. Laying tiles: During the laying process of floor tiles, a level should always be used for leveling testing. After the level is measured, the level height will be consistent, which can make the floor tiles beautiful and smooth after laying. So the level is very important!
6. Pointing: Finally, use a hooking agent. Generally, the time for pointing is 24 hours after laying the tiles, that is, after the floor tiles are dry and solid. If the pointing time is too early, it will affect the tiles and cause unevenness or looseness. fall off. When hooking floor tiles, pay attention to the depth of the gap. Not only the spacing of the wall tiles must be consistent, but the depth of the gap must also be consistent, and there should not be too many irregularities. All owners must pay attention when accepting acceptance.
